About Me

I have been a photographer, both amateur and professional, for more years than I care to remember.

My interest in photography came initially from my father, himself a talented photographer with many published works to his credit. Some of my earliest recollections are being in my dad’s darkroom marvelling at the miracle of an image appearing on the paper as it sloshed around in the developer.

I got my first camera at the age of thirteen, a Kodak Box Brownie, at fifteen I graduated to 35mm, an Ilford Sportsman, and my first SLR, a Praktica Nova, at eighteen and I’ve never been without a camera of some sort since.

I turned over to digital in 1997, a leap of faith at the time, a leap I haven’t regretted for a moment, I still use medium format transparencies when circumstances call for it.
